Why choose a licensed acupuncturist?
There are many types of practitioners who claim to know how to do acupuncture, but that is not the same as being a licensed acupuncturist. A licensed acupuncturist must have a Doctorate or a Master's degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and has completed over 2,000 hours of formal education, and over 1,400 hours of clinical experience. All of this is required before they can take the multiple board exams offered by their state and the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) to become a licensed acupuncturist and a diplomat.
Licensed acupuncturists are the only ones who know everything there is to know about acupuncture theory, acupuncture physiology, acupuncture points, acupuncture practice and acupuncture medicine.
This far exceeds the 200-400 hours a physican or chiropractor needs to practice acupuncture or the 40-80 hours a physical therapist needs to practice functional dry needling.
Depending upon your needs we recommend that you choose the needle experts.
