We are proud to Support Our Veterans

At Point Balance Acupuncture, supporting our veterans is personal. Our clinic owner is a proud grandmother of an active-duty Marine, and two of our practitioners are veterans, one of who previously served as a registered nurse at the VA. Additionally, members of our support staff are military spouses who understand the unique experiences and sacrifices of military families. We are honored to serve those who have served our country and are committed to providing compassionate, personalized care that supports veterans' health, pain management, and overall well-being.

Acupuncture Services for Veterans

Point Balance Acupuncture is a Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care provider, offering acupuncture services to eligible veterans through the VA Community Care Network.

How to Get Started:

  1. Request a Referral: Contact your VA primary care provider to discuss acupuncture and request a referral through the VA Community Care program.

  2. Referral Processing: Once your referral and authorization have been received by our clinic, our team will review the information.

  3. Schedule Your Appointment: We will contact you directly to schedule your initial appointment and help you get started with care.

We are honored to support our veterans and look forward to helping you on your journey toward improved health, pain management, and overall well-being.

Have you already been seen at our clinic for acupuncture services through VA/CCN?

If you are receiving acupuncture at Point Balance Acupuncture through the VA/Community Care Network (VA/CCN), please review the following steps when requesting additional treatments.

1. Complete Your Final Visit and Required Paperwork

At your last scheduled visit, you will be asked to complete a Patient Summary and any additional required forms. All paperwork must be completed to allow us to submit a request for additional visits.

Important: We cannot submit a Request for Services (RFS) before your final scheduled visit. The VA/CCN requires all necessary paperwork, clinical charting, the Patient Summary, and completed forms to be included with the request. Submitting the request before all required documentation is available may result in an automatic denial.

2. Our Clinic Submits Your Request

After your final visit and completion of all required paperwork, our clinic will submit an RFS to VA/Community Care. This submission includes your Patient Summary, required forms from your initial and final visits, and relevant clinical documentation from your medical chart.

3. VA/Community Care Reviews Your Request

Once submitted, your request is reviewed by Community Care and the VA. Approval of additional visits is not guaranteed and is subject to their review and authorization process.

4. Contact Your VA Primary Care Provider

We strongly recommend sending a secure message to your VA Primary Care Provider through My HealtheVet to let them know you are requesting an additional acupuncture referral. This helps keep your provider informed of your ongoing care needs.

5. Follow Up on Your Referral Status

Veterans are responsible for contacting VA/Community Care directly for updates regarding their referral or authorization status. Our clinic submits the required documentation, but the VA determines the final decision and processing timeline.

Questions?

Please contact Point Balance Acupuncture if you have questions about the required paperwork or our submission process. We appreciate the opportunity to support you in your continued care and wellness journey.

While waiting for your next VA Community Care authorization, you are welcome to schedule appointments to continue your treatments.

You are also invited to join our monthly Community-Style Acupuncture Clinic, which offers acupuncture in a supportive group setting.
