How Neural Injection Therapy Works
Neural Injection Therapy targets what are called “interference fields”—areas of the body where past injuries, scars, trauma, or infections have disrupted the body’s electrical signaling and nervous system regulation. These areas can create chronic stress or dysfunction in distant parts of the body.
By injecting diluted procaine into these interference fields, such as scars, nerve ganglia, trigger points, or acupuncture points, the therapy helps:
-
Reset abnormal nerve signals
-
Calm inflammation in the nervous system
-
Improve blood flow and tissue repair
-
Restore balance to the autonomic nervous system
Even though the anesthetic wears off quickly, the therapeutic effect can be long-lasting, as the goal is to retrain the body’s own regulatory mechanisms.
What Is Injected in NIT?
-
Procaine (usually 0.5% to 1% concentration): A short-acting local anesthetic with powerful regulatory effects on the nervous system
-
Occasionally combined with vitamins (like B12) or homeopathic remedies depending on the practitioner’s approach
Conditions Commonly Treated with Neural Injection Therapy
-
Chronic pain syndromes
-
Headaches and migraines
-
Digestive issues (linked to autonomic imbalance)
-
Post-surgical or post-trauma dysfunction
-
Whiplash injuries
-
Hormonal imbalances
-
Scars that cause pain or dysfunction
-
Unexplained chronic conditions (when traditional treatments haven’t helped)
What to Expect
-
Quick procedure: In-office, usually 15–30 minutes
-
Very fine needles: Minimal discomfort
-
Targeted treatment: Injections often placed in scars, trigger points, or along nerve pathways
-
Mild redness or swelling: Usually temporary and resolves quickly
-
Often immediate improvement in symptoms—used diagnostically as well as therapeutically
